Charming newly-refurbished apartment in the heart of Monteverde, one of Rome’s nicest and safest residential areas (your most unpleasant encounter is likely to be dogs’ poops on the pavement). It’s only 25 minutes away by tram from the Coliseum, but also just a few minutes’ walk from the city’s biggest public park, Villa Pamphili. The comfortable 5th floor one-bedroom apartment is fully furnished and it caters to small families, friends traveling together, solo adventures, couples, as well as hopeless romantics. Baby cot is available upon request. There are books in several languages to read (you are free to take some back home with you, as well as leave as many as you want for the next guests to appreciate). There are board games too. The apartment boasts a living room with a pullout sofa bed (can sleep two) and a kitchenette, a dining table and four chairs, one bedroom with a double bed (North Americans prefer to call it a queen size bed), a small room with a washing machine/tumble drier and with space to store your bags. The large bathroom, with its fluffy towels, hair dryer, shampoo and shower gel, has a spacious shower box and bidet. Please note there is a municipal tourist tax of EUR3.5 per night per person (over the age of 9 years) I need to collect from guests when they arrive.

I've been residing in Rome for the last 20 years after having lived in England, Ireland and Luxembourg. I may not be a nationalized Romano but I know a thing or two about the Eternal City and I am more than willing to share with my guests. I will greet you at the apartment, or tram stop, and show you around to make sure you are settled comfortably and answer any questions. I am available for any assistance or advice you may require. Monteverde (which means “green hill” in Italian) is one of the “greenest” neighbourhoods in a city where there is noticeable lack of parks. The area is full of restaurants and coffee bars which cater for locals. The cozy flat is located in a quiet street only few steps away from the “Tram 8” stop, which brings you straight into Piazza Venezia/ Venice Square via the trendy and hipster Trastevere neighbourhood, and to most of the Eternal City’s top attractions (Coliseum, Ancient Forum/ Palatine Hill, Capitoline Museums, Trevi Fountain, Piazza Navona, Spanish Steps, the Dolce Vita’s Via Veneto). Perfect location for exploring Rome. The location is fantastic with excellent transport links to Rome’s innumerable unique ancient sites and museums. It is easily reachable from Fiumicino Airport via light railway (the station is Stazione Trastevere—a train every 15 minutes to and from the airport).
